Final Shots: Netflix Will Reportedly Launch Offline Mode By The End Of Year

Have you ever gotten so frustrated by that dreaded network load icon on your mobile device that you just threw in the towel and closed your Netflix app entirely? Fear not, because that rumored Netflix offline mode might be coming sooner than you think.

According to Light Reading, the new streaming option will allow users to pre-download movies and episodes of your favorite shows. “We know from our sources within the industry that Netflix is going to launch this product,” said industry insider Penthera COO Dan Taitz. “My expectation is that by the end of the year Netflix will be launching download-to-go as an option for their customers.” So long are the days of choppy video play and depleting your cellular data.

Amazon has ordered two new Prime Video original kids series titled Little Big Awesome and Ronja the Robber’s Daughter, both of which will stream this fall. According to a press release, the SVOD platform has also greenlight a 26-episode second season of The Stinky & Dirty Show, which is based on the “I Stink!” book series by Kate and Jim McMullan.

Netflix has released the trailer for Joe Rogan’s new stand-up comedy special Triggered. The one-hour original feature, during which the comedian tackles everything from weed gummy bears to Bruce Jenner, premieres Friday, October 21:
