Since the beginning, Black Mirror has been great at two things: delivering chilling social satire and casting brilliant actors. The names and faces you’re bound to see in any given episode range from stalwart stage and television favorites to up-and-coming stars of tomorrow.
Season Three of Black Mirror is upping the ante. In addition to giving us the same types of prestigious British actors as past seasons, Netflix has also cast some of the biggest names in film and TV. The result? Each episode of Black Mirror is now chockfull of faces you’ve seen before…even if you can’t always place their name.
Here’s your guide to the major players of Black Mirror season three, Episode 5, “Men Against Fire.” The episode was directed by Jakob Verbruggen (The Fall, House of Cards) and was written by the series’ mastermind, Charlie Brooker.

Malachi Kirby
Who They Are In Black Mirror: Malachi Kirby plays Stripe, a young soldier coping with his first Roach hunt.
Where You Know Them From: British actor Kirby got his start on soaps. Yup, that’s right. He’s a soap opera star. Kirby played Wayne Ladlow on EastEnders. Kirby has appeared in all sorts of British films and television shows, but you probably only know him for his splashy debut on American TV. Kirby took up the mantle of Kunta Kinte in the remake of Roots.
Madeline Brewer
Who They Are In Black Mirror: Madeline Brewer plays Raiman, a soldier who loves the hunt.
Where You Know Them From: You’ve probably seen Madeline Brewer on your Netflix queue before. She was a big part of the first season of Orange Is The New Black and has co-starred on Hemlock Grove.
Michael Kelly
Who They Are In Black Mirror: Michael Kelly plays Arquette, a sort of therapist who treats Stripe after he has an interesting encounter with a Roach.
Where You Know Them From: Hard-core Netflix fans should find it easy to place Kelly. He plays the tortured staffer Doug Stamper on House of Cards. The Emmy nominated-actor is also known for his work in Everest, Person of Interest, Chronicle, Generation Kill, and The Sopranos.
Loreece Harrison
Who They Are In Black Mirror: Loreece Harrison plays the Dream Girl of Stripe’s fantasies. She, uh, has an orgy with multiple versions of herself.
Where You Know Them From: This is her first ever and only acting role so you don’t know her at all. Well, I guess you do now.
Ariane Labed
Who They Are In Black Mirror: Ariane Labed plays Catarina, a “Roach” who makes Stripe see things a bit differently.
Where You Know Them From: Labed is a Greek actress whose biggest roles to date have been in Before Midnight and The Lobster. This Christmas she will be co-starring opposite Michael Fassbender in the film version of Assassin’s Creed.
