Leah Remini used to be one of the most vocal members of the Church of Scientology. Then, a few years ago, she broke free. Last year she published her tell-all memoir, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology. Now she’s spearheading a new documentary series for A&E that interviews former Scientologists about their harrowing experiences. Today ET aired an exclusive preview of Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath and it looks like it’s going to be explosive.

The short clip explains how Remini used to be a celebrated member of L. Ron Hubbard’s religious organization and how she has been compelled by something inside her to seek out the truth about Scientology’s shadier dealings. It looks like the series won’t just be about Remini, but multiple survivors. We say “survivors” because the interview subjects in the clip allege physical assault, blackmail, and rape. Yes, rape.

One of the women Remini meets with explains that she became a Scientologist as a teen and an elder had sex with her. She then adds that the rape was not only never reported, but that her mother was told by the church that it would be covered up. The moment brings Remini to tears.

Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath premieres on A&E on November 29 and might wind up being far more damaging to the religious organization than HBO’s Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief.
