It’s no secret that Netflix’s library of content has been shrinking in recent months. However, the global streaming service has been counting on two major developments to keep its subscription base interested: Netflix’s own largely acclaimed original series and the streaming service’s exclusive deal with Disney. These past couple of months, we’re finally starting to see the effects of this much-discussed deal, and things are looking up.

Here’s the rundown on Netflix’s deal with Disney: Netflix will have exclusive first window streaming rights to Disney movies released after January 1, 2016. So that means if Disney releases any animated film, Marvel movie, or Star Wars epic on a streaming service, that service is going to be Netflix. Considering the quality of Disney’s movies and the many other properties the company owns, this is a very exciting deal for subscribers as well as the content boost the company needs right now. If social media complaints and internet think pieces are any indication, the streaming service’s diminishing library has made several viewers unhappy, but, as Netflix’s third quarter earnings call indicated, not necessarily unhappy enough to cancel their subscription. The implementation of the Disney deal has the potential to add dozens of beloved movies to Netflix and should help curb these complaints.

We’re still at the beginning stages of Netflix’s Disney deal. After all, 2016’s Zootopia just came to the streaming service last month, and The Jungle Book isn’t expected to hit the service until November 30. However, several beloved classics and newer watches have just hit the streaming service that are worth checking out.
