Kate Micucci is one of the most clutch comedic actresses today. She’s popped up in huge sitcoms and quirky TV shows, made her mark in rom-coms and touched our hearts in indie films as well. At first glance, she can seem rather unassuming, which is exactly how she hooks you. Both the words and the feelings she’s capable of emitting will surprise you in the best way, and teach you exactly what a force she can be on-screen.

But Kate’s proven to be so much more than that, an actress that brings as much depth as she does comedy to her often-silly roles. She’s a major force in the comedy world, boldly carving out her own corner with both silly songs and wide-eyes that convey more true emotion than any setup-punchline could, even when sung to a catchy tune. In other words, Kate might be petite, but her comedy is powerful.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Kate was first noticed in sitcoms such as Scrubs, ‘Til Death, and Bored to Death, before she landed the role as Lucy, love interest of Raj (Kunal Nayyar) on The Big Bang Theory. Kate’s been one half of comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates with Riki Lindhome for many years, so it was great to see the pair get their own IFC show to display their hilarious songs and so much more in Garfunkel and Oates. The two have worked together on Comedy Central’s Another Period, as well.
