Amazon has announced the worldwide launch of Prime Video, its popular SVOD platform, in over 200 territories worldwide. The new expansion solidifies the subscription streaming service as one of Netflix’s biggest global competitors.

According to a press release, customers in new Prime Video territories are being offered subscriptions at an introductory price of $2.99 for the first six months. Amazon Original Series are available in English, with French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish subtitled and dubbed versions. The platform is not currently available in China as they continue to establish their own global SVOD market.

Sling TV has announced the addition of Fandor Festival and a number of additional STARZ channels to its live television streaming lineup. According to a press release, Fandor Festival is now available in the Hollywood Extra pack for an additional $5 per month while STARZ Kids & Family, STARZ Edge, STARZ Comedy and STARZ West are all a part of Sling TV’s STARZ premium pack for an additional $9 per month.

Hulu has acquired the SVOD rights to UK drama series National Treasure, which will premiere as a Hulu original on March 1. The four-part Channel 4 series is written by Jack Thorne and centers around a fictional public figure who is accused of sexual misconduct. [Deadline]

The former soccer-only live streaming service FuboTV is planning to compete with rival sports streaming platforms after developing a new $34.99 per month skinny bundle. The new package includes 70+ channels from providers including Fox, NBCUniversal, and A+E Networks. [Deadline]
