Final Shots: Hulu Says Live Television Streaming Service Will Include CBS

Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins has revealed that the platform’s forthcoming standalone live television streaming service will include CBS. The network, which is not on AT&T’s DirecTV Now either, had previously rejected the platform’s offer.

According to Deadline, Hopkins stated “We’re now starting to form a great line up of channels and we’ll have some other deals before we launch.” The agreement with CBS will include CBS Sports Network and POP and has “the potential to add additional networks in the future.” Its current deal for Showtime as an add-on premium service has also been extended. CBS has most likely held back from live streaming deals up until this point in order to drive traffic towards its own platform, CBS All Access.
