How’s your stomach feeling this morning? Good? Calm? Settled? Do you feel like puking? Are you sure you don’t feel like puking? I’m only asking because the official red band trailer for film festival favorite Raw dropped today and it’s not for the faint of heart or sour of stomach.

Yes, people have fainted and/or puked watching this movie. Paramedics were called to the Raw screening at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and an official spokesperson was forced to confirm that “an ambulance had to be called to the scene as the film became too much for a couple patrons.” (Yikes.)

Raw is an erotic cannibal thriller directed by up-and-coming French auteur Julia Ducournau. The film follows a vegetarian named Justine who is forced to eat raw meat for the first time during a hazing ritual at her vet school. The experience has the unexpected effect of, um, making her a cannibal.

Despite its macabre subject matter, Raw has become something of a critical darling. It won the FIPRESCI Prize at Cannes last year and has scooped up more festival honors all over the world. The film is due in theaters stateside on March 10, but we won’t blame you if you want to wait until it comes out on streaming. You’re going to want to be close to a bucket for this one.
