In a major (and very exciting) move, Starz will release the entire second installment of their hit limited series The Missing on the Starz app and On Demand simultaneously with the network premiere on February 12th. All 8 episodes will be available that day for viewers to binge-watch, continuing Starz’ strategy of being the only premium cable network to put out all episodes in a binge-watch release on premiere day.

And if that’s not exciting enough for you, the first episode of The Missing will be available early as a sneak peak On Demand and on the Starz app starting February 6th.

The last time Starz tested this binge model was in 2016 for The Girlfriend Experience, and making the full season available at once paid off in a big way. 82% of The Girlfriend Experience viewers binge-watched the show, which was also the most-binged show on Starz last year.

Starz President and CEO Chris Albrecht said, “The STARZ series The Girlfriend Experience and Flesh and Bone experienced considerable growth in binge watching over the course of their seasons, and we believe the same success will hold true for The Missing. The thriller aspect of the season is such an adrenaline rush, that we believe many viewers will want to watch more than one episode at a time. It’s truly addictive storytelling.”

The Missing first premiered on Starz in 2014 and went on to earn two Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy nomination. Starz viewers can currently stream and download the first installment on the Starz app. The show follows Sam (David Morrissey) and Gemma Webster (Keeley Hawes), whose daughter Alice (Abigail Hardingham) went missing in 2003. When a young British woman shows up in her German hometown eleven years later claiming to be Alice, needless to say, it causes quite a ruckus. The mysterious woman might be linked to another missing girl, Sophie, which brings French detective Julien (Tchéky Karyo) aboard the case. The gripping story is told across 3 different timelines, from 2014 to present day, and follows the unraveling of Alice’s family.

The second installment of the series introduces a new case with new characters in a new location, and will continue to air weekly at 8:00 ET/PT on STARZ, every Sunday night through April 2 if you like to space your dramas out. But for the bingers, all eight episodes will only be available on the Starz app and Starz On Demand beginning February 12 at 12:01 AM ET.
