Those of you who watched the Frontline special last fall called “The Choice 2016” will no doubt recall that the seeds for Donald Trump‘s Presidential run were first sewn at the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner, when then President Obama torched Trump with a series of jokes at his expense (see below). Well, Trump’s first run as the host of the WHCD will come on April 29 of this year, but the outspoken comedian Samantha Bee has taken herself out of the running to be the evening’s emcee. Why? She’ll be hosting an event that same night she’s calling the “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” which will air on TBS. “We suspect some members of the press may find themselves unexpectedly free that night, and we want to feed them and give them hugs,” the host of Full Frontal With Samantha Bee said in a statement.
