Did you catch last night’s premiere of Imposters on Bravo? If not, brace yourself, and then go watch it. If you did, then you’re fully on board with this week’s Woman Crush Wednesday. Star of the dark comedy/drama/con artist thriller Inbar Lavi will continue to tantalize viewers throughout all 10 episodes of the season and we’re ready for every bump in this roller coaster ride.
WHO’S THAT GAL: Inbar Lavi
WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: The Israeli actress is currently experiencing what some might call a “breakout” role. While she’s popped up in some excellent shows and movies before, she is totally killing it in Imposters. As Maddie, she plays a con artist who orchestrates a too-good-to-be-true meet cute, proceeds to “fall in love” and maintain a serious relationship…until she robs them for every penny they’re worth before moving on to her next mark. She so effortlessly slips into new wigs, accents, and personalities throughout the course of the season that she is essentially playing a handful of characters in one role.
In fact, her co-star Rob Heaps, who plays one of her victims, Ezra, told us just how much thought she put into her character, explaining of her character Maddie, “Inbar said something really interesting, because we were trying to come up with some funny improvisation and I said ‘Maybe you should think of something that actually really annoys you about each of us, when you were married to us.’ She thought and said, ‘I don’t think anything. I don’t think Maddie feels like that. I think Maddie is such a good actor that she is completely in love with whoever she has to be in love with. She plays the parts so convincingly that there’s nothing that would annoy her about that person in that moment because she’s getting everything that she has in becoming this person that just fits so well.’ That really stayed with me.” Not to mention, this is a gal that looks great as both a blonde and a brunette, so her talent even extends to her hair!
WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Inbar has popped up in shows such as Entourage, Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami, and Castle before the 2012 action crime film For The Love Of Money. From there, she booked meatier roles on Underemployed, Gang Related, Sons of Anarchy and The Last Ship. She can also be seen in 2015’s The Last Witch Hunter with Vin Diesel and Elijah Wood.
