This morning, Netflix took to YouTube for a live stream event that included a sit-down with Bill Nye and the Todd Yellin, Netflix’s VP of Product, as well as panels that later included a talk about the creative freedom Netflix provides with Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black), Jamie Clayton (Sense8), Zal Batmanglij (The OA), Paul Rust (Love), and Michael Bolton and Akiva Schaffer (Michael Bolton’s Big Sexy Valentine’s Day Special), as well as a discussion with the creator and stars of Santa Clarita Diet. A second season of The OA was confirmed, and we finally got a premiere date for Orange is the New Black’s fifth season (June 9). While the announcement that there would be 1,000 original hours coming to Netflix this year was certainly exciting, the highlight of this entire event (so far) was the world premiere of the first Bill Nye Saves the World trailer.

“Let’s do something fun!” Nye proclaims as the trailer kicks off. Sex, global warming, GMOs, technology, and alternative medicine are among the many subjects that Nye will tackle on the show, aided by a series of correspondents including fashion model Karlie Kloss, comedians Nazeem Hussain and Joanna Hausmann, science YouTuber Derek Muller, and TV host and producer Emily Calandrelli. There will be thirteen episodes in the series, and they will also feature special guests like Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Rachel Bloom, Joel McHale, and Tim Gunn, among a slew of other big names. If you loved Bill Nye the Science Guy, this fresh update might be just your jam. In a world where elected officials are currently denying global warming, there’s never been a better time to start educating the masses about science and the like.

Get science-y, y’all. Bill Nye Saves the World arrives on Netflix April 21.
