While we’re still bummed The Young Pope is over, it opens up a spot for Big Little Lies to fill in the HBO lineup this Sunday night. The miniseries stars Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Shailene Woodley and the story of the not-so-normal mothers is sure to have you hooked right away. We know and love those gals, but today’s Woman Crush Wednesday is going out to scene-stealer Sarah Baker.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Sarah Baker

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: If the name Sarah Baker doesn’t ring a bell right away, her performances definitely have. She’s stood out in a variety of TV shows and movies, garnering laughs and love opposite some pretty big names. But it’s her subtle comedy, from a blank expression to making a bold statement without ever raising her voice, that makes her characters so intriguing and relatable. We can’t wait to see what she does as Thea Cunningham in BLL, because as we’ve come to expect, her acting is like a fine spice: just a dash of it adds something unique and unexpected and maybe even a little bit tangy to any scene.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Sarah’s been acting for over 15 years, making her big screen debut in Sweet Home Alabama in 2002 as Dix — also her first time working with Big Little Lies co-star Reese Witherspoon. She’s appeared in shows such as The Office, Modern Family, Key & Peele, Married, Fresh Off The Boat, and Workaholics. But it was her role on Louie that gained national headlines after she absolutely nailed this monologue:

Sarah also starred in the sweet Matthew Perry sitcom Go On as one of his support group pals. She played wife to Zach Galifianakis in The Campaign, got robbed by Melissa McCarthy (wearing a paper bag over her head, no less) in Tammy, and re-teamed with Reese for The Good Lie. Last year alone she had two fantastic roles in The Meddler with Susan Sarandon and Christopher Guest’s Netflix movie, Mascots.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER NEXT: This Sunday kicks off Big Little Lies, a miniseries that is sure to have everyone talking for weeks. Next month you can see her in The Last Word with Shirley MacLaine and Amanda Seyfried, and Speech & Debate, due out in April, with Wendy McClendon-Covey and Skylar Astin. Plus, she’ll get to work with Melissa McCarthy once again in Life of the Party. Sadly, we’ll have to wait until 2018 to attend that party, but we’re just glad Sarah’s going to be there.
