A new study conducted by Netflix concluded that watching your teen’s shows can help parents to bond with them. New research found that 83% of parents have done just that and were pleased to see that their teens even welcomed it.

According to a press release, 70% of parents and 60% of teens wish they had more to talk about with one another. Furthermore, both parents (92%) and teens (63%) agree that watching the same shows could help start a dialogue when it comes to having tough conversations. When surveyed, teens felt that even shows like Breaking Bad and Orange is the New Black ​might give parents and teens more to talk about with each other. The streaming giant interviewed a number of families on video who relayed these sentiments, the clip of which you can view below.

Netflix has ordered a brand new dark comedy titled El Camino Christmas from Hidden Figures filmmaker Ted Melfi and director Dave Talbert. Starring Tim Allen, Vincent D’Onofrio and more, the original film follows a young man in search of his father who ends up barricaded in a liquor store with five other people on Christmas Eve. Adam Sandler is already developing his next Netflix comedy, The Week Of, which will also star Chris Rock. The forthcoming original comedy will center on the marriage of Sandler’s character’s daughter and Rock’s character’s son and will be directed by frequent Happy Madison collaborator Robert Smigel. Netflix has struck its very first licensing deal in China with one of the country’s leading streaming platforms, iQIYI. While the deal is too new to provide many details, Netflix’s original content will reportedly be available on a day-and-date or near simultaneous basis, along with availability in other territories. Netflix has released an official clip titled “Am I Talking Too Much?” from its forthcoming original Anne of Green Gables reboot, Anne. Based on Lucy Maud Montgomery’s timeless novel of the same name, the one-hour drama series is written by Emmy Award winner Moira Walley-Beckett and will debut on May 12:
