Showtime Releases New ‘Twin Peaks’ Revival Teaser, Reveals Finale Date

How are we talking about the ending before it has even begun…?!

Nonetheless, Showtime has announced that its upcoming Twin Peaks revival — premiering Sunday, May 21 at 9/8c, with two episodes — will wrap its “18-part” run on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 8 pm, where it will again serve up double episodes.

As also announced Friday, after debuting in the 9 o’clock hour, Twin Peaks will move to 8 pm starting Aug. 6, where it will lead into Season 5 of Ray Donovan.

Showtime also released the teaser above, which takes us on a tour of that wacky little northwestern town.

Directed entirely by David Lynch, the new Twin Peaks picks up 25 years after Laura Palmer’s murder rocked and shocked the town’s denizens. The revival’s cast list features the return of several actors from the original series (including Kyle MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn, Madchen Amick, Sheryl Lee and David Duchovny) as well as a staggering amount of new faces (including Enlightened‘s Laura Dern, Arrested Development‘s Michael Cera, The Thorn Birds‘ Richard Chamberlain, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, and Gossip Girl‘s Jessica Szohr).

Immediately following the two-part May 21 premiere, Showtime subscribers will have access to the third and fourth parts via Showtime streaming and On Demand platforms.
