Netflix’s joyously transgressive science fiction odyssey Sense8 returned this weekend for Season Two. While our favorite Sensates are still experimenting with the glory of their own inter-connection, one character got to explore an entirely new kind of sensation. Hell yeah, Sun (Doona Bae) got a full-fledged, totally hot, completely arresting love interest.

Detective Mun (played by South Korean actor Sukku Son) emerges in Season 2, Episode 4, “Polyphony” as a potential adversary and love interest for Sun. See, Sun is on the literal run and he’s the guy assigned to trail her and bring her in. The two square off in an intense roof fight in the rain that’s only made more exciting by the revelation that they tangled together in the past.

Mun spends the rest of the season chasing Sun (in more ways than one). Even though he’s a man of the law, he believes that she is innocent. Later, the two have an even more tense rooftop fight scene that’s bathed in light and (SPOILER ALERT) ends in a hot and heavy kiss. Mun’s fate is left dangling in the air at the end of the season and at least one recapper wants him to return. Why? Well, the show has established two things: he and Sun have a past and he and Sun have chemistry.

But who’s Sukku Son? Well, that’s tricky to pin down. The South Korean actor only has one other major credit to his name and it’s a short film made in 2014. We reached out to the show’s publicists and they didn’t have an official bio for the actor — which is normal since he’s pretty much a recurring guest star. However, we did find his personal Instagram which is full of love for Sense8, “Sun&Mun,” and the fans.

Son also posted this sweet selfie with a dedication to the fans who have embraced his work on the show:

It’s important to note that Sense8 is one of the few major American shows out there that embraces a truly diverse international cast. The main cast includes actors from America, Germany, India, and yes, South Korea. The only other ping we got searching for Sukku Son was an audition tape for Crazy Rich Asians. The upcoming film recently made headlines because director Jon M. Chu swore to scour the globe for Asian talent in an attempt to cast “amazing Asian actors” in every single part in the ensemble film. This opened up a massive open casting call and Sukku Son helped actress Yaerin Joo with her audition tape which you can watch here. Why is this important? Well, for the same reason Sense8 is. Both that upcoming film and the Netflix show are giving Asian actors a chance to breakthrough in Western cinema. Sukko Son’s turn on Sense8 is a breakthrough in more ways than one.

Seasons 1 & 2 of Sense8 are now streaming on Netflix.
