Netflix has unveiled the first teaser for Naomi Watts’ forthcoming psychological thriller, Gypsy. In the SVOD original series, Watts plays Jean Halloway; a Manhattan therapist who begins to develop close personal relationships with people in her patients’ lives.
During the brand new clip, Watts (as Halloway) creepily recites a patient oath before we get a first look at her therapist character. According to EW, the pilot episode of the show was created and written by Lisa Rubin and directed by Fifty Shades of Grey filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson. Touching on aspects of the female psyche, the mostly female-driven directorial team was essential to the show’s inception, according to Rubin. All episodes of the sexy and riveting new series will premiere exclusively via the platform on June 30.

Rap artist Danny Brown has crafted a brand new song exclusively for HBO’s Silicon Valley. The track, titled “Kool Aid,” will appear on the next episode of the tech comedy series as well as its soundtrack and you can listen to it below.
Jessica Alba, Kurtwood Smith, and others have joined the cast of Netflix’s forthcoming dark comedy El Camino Christmas from Hidden Figures filmmaker Ted Melfi and director Dave Talbert. Starring Tim Allen, Vincent D’Onofrio and more, the original film follows a young man in search of his father who ends up barricaded in a liquor store with five other people on Christmas Eve. Showtime has officially ordered Frankie Shaw’s new half-hour comedy series SMILF, which was previously in development. Based on Shaw’s short that won the 2015 Short Film Jury Award at Sundance, the 10-episode first season is slated for premiere this fall. [Deadline]
