Final Shots: Hulu Nabs Exclusive SVOD Rights To ABC’s ‘Fresh Off the Boat’

Hulu announced today a new licensing agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution for exclusive SVOD rights to ABC’s Asian American comedy series Fresh Off the Boat. All past episodes of the series are now available to stream via the platform.

According to a press release, the complete third season is among the show’s complete library, with future episodes to stream the day after they air on ABC. The brand new deal also makes Hulu the exclusive streaming home to FOX’s The Exorcist and NBC’s critically-acclaimed comedy series The Carmichael Show.

Weekly MLB games are coming to Facebook as part of a brand new live streaming deal signed this week. The social network, who recently revealed more aggressive live streaming plans, will air one national baseball game each Friday via the MLB’s Facebook page starting today (Rockies vs. Reds). For those who still don’t have a Hulu account, Groupon has partnered with the platform to offer a 45-day free trial to first-time customers. The SVOD giant’s standard promotional period is typically 30 days, after which subscribers are charged $7.99 per month for ad-supported streaming and $11.99 per month for ad-free streaming. Wonderstruck director Todd Haynes leaped to the defense of Amazon in Cannes on Thursday, saying that the streaming service “love[s] cinema.” Haynes stated: “The film division at Amazon is made up of true cineastes who love movies and really want to try and provide opportunity for independent film visions to find their footing in a vastly shifting market.” [Variety]

Netflix has released the official trailer to Season 2 of Bill Burr’s animated original series, F is for Family, premiering May 30. The angsty new clip introduces viewers to a whole new set of issues to be faced by disgruntled blue-collar worker and family man Frank Murphy (voiced by Burr):
