Final Shots: Poker Central Launches PokerGO Live Streaming Platform

Poker fans, rejoice! Poker Central has launched PokerGO, a brand new live streaming platform for the game’s biggest events. The OTT subscription service recently nabbed streaming rights to the World Series of Poker and television distribution deals with NBC Sports Network and ESPN.

According to a press release, PokerGO will include on-demand original programming throughout the year including documentaries and new series in addition to the aforementioned live events. The service will cost $10 a month or $99 for the entire year. The platform is currently available in more than 150 countries on Android and iOS, and will be available on additional platforms including Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire in time for PokerGO’s first live tournament, the Super High Roller Bowl, on May 28. Free access will be available for the first day of the tournament.

A sports-free TV package may be coming to an over-the-top streaming service this year. Viacom, the owner of Comedy Central, MTV, and VH1, is reportedly in talks with a platform to become part of an entertainment-only bundle that could cost less than $20 a month. [Variety]

The first 13 episodes of Studio Trigger’s Little Witch Academia anime series are coming to Netflix on June 30. The series, which centers on three witches in training at Luna Nova Magical Academy, began airing in Japan on January 9 and has a total of 25 episodes. [IGN]

The first episode of Showtime’s new 1970s L.A. comedy scene series I’m Dying Up Here is now streaming for free on YouTube ahead of its official June 4 premiere. The hourlong series, which is executive-produced by Jim Carrey, is based on William Knoedelseder’s 2010 book of the same name and follows a group of comedians struggling to get by:
