Did You Know There’s A New O.J. Simpson Documentary On Netflix?

If the 13 hours of content provided by ESPN’s O.J. Made in America and FX’s The People v. O. J. Simpson aren’t enough to satisfy your curiosity on the most notorious murder trial in modern history, Netflix has added a new documentary on the polarizing subject: Kardashian: The Man Who Saved O.J. Simpson.

Thanks to the popularity of Ezra Edelman’s immersive documentary and FX’s engaging anthology, there’s been a renewed interest in the high-profile 1995 trial of the former NFL running back. Whether you’re revisiting this polarizing case or learning about the specific details for the very first time, Kardashian: The Man Who Saved O.J. Simpsonwhich originally aired on Reelz back in 2016 focuses on a significant unanswered question from this unforgettable slice of history: Did Robert Kardashian destroy a bag of evidence to protect his longtime friend O.J. Simpson?

Before the world began keeping up with the day-to-day activities of Kim, Kris, Caitlyn, and Khloe, we were introduced to Robert Kardashian. The patriarch of the famous family was thrust into the spotlight when he joined Simpson’s legal “dream team” back in 1994. The documentary delves into the long friendship between Kardashian and Simpson, but the most interesting aspect of the 40-minute special is the array of questions surrounding a Louis Vuitton garment bag O.J. brought back from Chicago the day after the horrific murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

Amidst the chaos of O.J. being taken away by police, news producers stumbled upon footage of Kardashian taking the bag from Simpson’s secretary and then simply walking away with the now infamous carryall.

When you consider that O.J. packed the bag the night of the murders, the piece of luggage could have been filled with loads of potential evidence. “This is like forgotten history,” news producer Burt Kearns says during the documentary. “We caught Robert Kardashian slipping off with O.J. Simpson’s garment bag, and that bag was bulging with Simpson’s stuff.”

An empty Louis Vuitton garment bag was introduced as evidence in the trial, but the contents of the original bag seen in the above photo have never been found. While the cargo from the piece of luggage officially remains a mystery, Kim Kardashian revealed in a 2016 interview with GQ that she actually went through the bag but found nothing but “toiletries, clothes, and golf clothes.”
