It’s been eight long months since we last checked in with those quarrelsome Bennett boys from Garrison, Colorado on The Ranch. A brand new batch of episodes arrive on Netflix today — which is technically the first half of Season 2 (and also confusingly referred to as Part 3) — and we’re here to provide you with a quick refresher on Colt (Ashton Kutcher), Rooster (Danny Masterson), and the rest of the drama emanating from the Iron River Ranch before you start to stream Part 3. Or the first half of Season 2. Whatever. You get it. New episodes!

Let’s revisit The Ranch.

Heather is pregnant and Colt is the father

Part 3 picks up right where we left off: Colt is forced to face the reality of his increasingly complicated love triangle with Abby (Elisha Cuthbert) and Heather (Kelli Goss). The Part 2 finale saw Colt and Abby wistfully talking about settling down and starting a family together. In the surprising final scene, Colt’s on his way to propose to Abby when *record scratch* his ex-girlfriend Heather shows up and announces that she’s pregnant with Colt’s baby.

From the looks of the following trailer, Colt may not be ready for fatherhood (since he compares having a baby to owning an X-Box), and Heather’s mom Mary (who’s also Rooster’s girlfriend because #smalltown) isn’t exactly thrilled about the pregnancy.

Booze, babies, and a curmudgeonly Beau Bennett (Sam Elliott): The Ranch is back!

What’s going on with the rest of the Bennetts?

After finalizing their divorce, Maggie (Debra Winger) and Beau attempt to navigate a post-marriage friendship. Will the two date other people? Perhaps, but Beau didn’t seem too jazzed about the prospect of joining Tinder during last season’s finale.

Romance aside, Rooster’s new job at the Neumann’s Hill ranch caused a riff between father and son, but the two seemed to have (kinda, sorta) patched things up. As the new slate of episodes begin, Rooster settles into relationship life with Mary (Megyn Price) after finally moving out of his dad’s house, but the trailer teases that his employment at Neumann’s Hill may be short-lived, which could lead to Rooster’s return to the Bennett coop.

What’s Wilmer Valderrama’s Umberto up to?

Last season, Valderrama guest starred as erstwhile rancher Umberto. The former friend of Colt and Rooster returned to Garrison to work at a rival ranch and began a romantic relationship with Darlene, who is Colt’s ex-girlfriend’s sister and Rooster’s current girlfriend’s daughter (because, once more with feeling, #smalltown).

As evidenced by the following photo, the That ’70s Show trio will once again find themselves in trouble with the law.

While the series has received mixed reviews from critics, the raunchy comedy currently holds a 7.6/10 rating on IMDB and boasts a robust 80% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Saddle up for a brand new batch of episodes.
