**PLAYED BY:** Kyle MacLachlan
**WHAT'S THEIR DEAL:** Dougie seems to have been "manufactured" to be a second doppelganger for Agent Cooper. He takes the Evil Cooper's place in the Black Lodge's waiting room and dissolves into a tiny golden ball. In the real world, Dougie owes a huge amount of money and is on the verge of being murdered for his debt. A severely impaired Cooper takes Dougie's place.Photo: Showtime

**WHAT'S THEIR DEAL:** He's Detective Harry S. Truman's brother and the ranking officer in Twin Peaks. Here's the real deal, though: *Twin Peaks* star Michael Ontkean retired from acting and didn't want to reprise his role as Harry S. **WHAT'S THEIR DEAL:** We've seen characters *like* "Woodsman" before, stalking the jail and morgue in South Dakota. On last night's episode, a group of them scurried over the dead body of Cooper's doppelganger and pulled BOB out of his body. This Woodsman is also a key player in a series of scenes that take place in 1956. He emerges from the New Mexico wastelands to wreck havoc on a small town. **NEW CHARACTER**: Senorita Dido
**PLAYED BY:** Joy Nash
**WHAT'S THEIR DEAL:** Senorita Dido is a mysterious figure who comes from the same place as the kindly giant who has guided Cooper in the past. Twin Peaks: The Return

Twin Peaks: The Return keeps on introducing us to more and more beguiling characters. Case in point: Take last night’s (literally) explosive episode. David Lynch dug deep into his own avant garde oeuvre to show us the inside of an atomic bomb and the birth of BOB. We also got to meet the benevolent Senorita Dido (Joy Nash), the terrifying Woodsman (Robert Broski), and a couple of cute teens in love. Oh, and “The” Nine Inch Nails played a gig in Twin Peaks.

Twin Peaks has always been the place to see brilliant character actors playing wonderfully eccentric characters. And the new Showtime series is continuing that tradition in a great big way. Last April, it was announced that the new series would boast a cast of 217 characters, many of them brand new to David Lynch‘s television universe.

To help you sort through all the new players, we’ve assembled a gallery of the compelling new characters and crazy cameos that you’ll need to know to make sense of this latest chapter of Twin Peaks — well, as much sense as you can.
