The Alchemist Cookbook (2016)

This tense thriller follows a lone man as he retreats into the wilderness on a quest to uncover an ancient and mysterious secret. Of course things don’t go well for him, not after he turns to black magic in order to accomplish his goals. This film from writer/director Joel Potrykus screened at the South by Southwest Film Festival last year and currently holds an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Part two details the hard-edged criminal’s time in prison (and his daring escape).
