Who Are ‘The Standups’? Your Guide to the Comedians of Netflix’s New Comedy

**Nate Bargatze**
Bargatze is a rising comedian whose name you should learn. *Rolling Stone*, *Esquire*, and Marc Maron have all added the comedian to their must watch lists.

**Fortune Feimster**
If you're a fan of Chelsea Handler, there's a good chance you're already familiar with one of her favorite comedian friends. Feimster has been on *After Lately*, *Chelsea Lately*, and *Chelsea* as well as *Last Comic Standing*, *Workaholics*, and *Glee*. She was also a member of The Groundlings.

**Deon Cole**
If you love quirky comedy, there's a really good chance you love Cole's work. The comedian and writer has worked on both *The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien* and *Conan*, and he's also a cast member of the cop comedy *Angie Tribeca*. However, Cole is best known for playing the wild card Charlie on *Black-ish*.
**Where can I listen to him?**
Cole has a stand-up special called *Deon Cole: Cole Blooded Seminar* that you can stream on Comedy Central's site right now. You can also listen to it on Spotify along with *Live Comedy from the Laff House* and *From the Head to the Speakers, Vol. 1*.Getty Images

**Nikki Glaser**
Out of all the comedians in Netflix's new series, Glaser is probably the best known. She's hosted several podcasts including *You Had to be There* and *We Know Nothing*. However, you likely know her name from her Comedy Central show all about sex, *Not Safe with Nikki Glaser*.
**Where can I listen to her?** The best way to acquaint yourself with Glaser's comedic style is probably by watching *Not Safe*. **Beth Stelling**
Stelling came up through the Chicago comedy scene and was named a New Face of Comedy in Montreal's Just for Laughs Festival. She's also performed stand up for *@midnight*, *Chelsea Lately*, *The Meltdown with Jonah & Kumail*, and she had a role on Season Two of Amazon's *Red Oaks*. The comedian is also a writer for HBO's *Crashing*.

**Dan Soder**
If you're a fan of Comedy Central or collaborative comedy shows, there's a good chance you've seen Soder. The comedian, actor, and radio personality has been a frequent guest on MTV2's *The Guy Code*, and he's performed on *Conan*, *Inside Amy Schumer*, and *The Half Hour*. However, Soder is probably best known for his recurring role on *Billions* where he plays Mafee.

Your holiday week is about to get a whole lot funnier. Today marks the premiere of Netflix’s latest venture into the comedic world, The Standups.

Netflix has been heavily investing in standup comedy since it first starting producing original content. However, this new series, which features half-hour specials from six rising comedians, marks one of the first times Netflix has given specials to non-established comedians. Like another quirky comedy series before it, Netflix Presents: The Characters, The Standups seeks to showcase a curated selection of comedians you need to know about.

Featuring specials from everyone from Chelsea Handler bestie Fortune Feimster to comics’ comics like Nate Bargatze, The Standups is full of stars you likely don’t realize you already know. Their styles range from more traditional stand-up sets to quirky insanity and everything in between. If you trust Netflix’s recommendations and are looking for some new up-and-comers to watch, this series looks like it will be a great primer. So who are these comedians? How do you know them?
