Whoo, what an exciting week! First, we celebrated our country’s birthday, and now we’re shouting out a mega-talent in this week’s Woman Crush Wednesday.

If you’re not a current for former tween girl, Zendaya might not be a big deal for you, but she should be. The actress, singer and dancer is a new kind of role model: she’s social media savvy with a sense of self, and she’s just about as spunky as it gets. As Michelle in Spider-Man: Homecoming, what is sure to be one of the summer’s biggest movies, there’s a lot to know and love about this lady.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Zendaya

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: A former Disney Channel staple, Zendaya is completely remodeling what it looks like to transition from a child star to an adult super star. You’re not gonna find this gal hard partying, she’s too hard-working. If anyone has mastered how to be classy and poised while speaking up for themselves and for what’s right, it’s Zendaya. She’s a celebrity with a conscious and a surplus of talent. While she’s a great actress, she’s figured out that whole self-confidence thing at an enviously young age (she’s currently 20 years old) and there’s no telling where that will catapult her career.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Zendaya spent 3 seasons on the Disney Channel hit series Shake It Up! with Bella Thorne, and the pair starred in 2 original movies for the channel as well, Zapped and Frenemies. Not only did Zendaya sign on to star in the network’s series K.C. Undercover, but she also served as a producer on the show. She was the runner-up on Dancing with the Stars in 2013, and you might also recognize her as Cut-Throat in the infamous Taylor Swift “Bad Blood” music video.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: You can catch her in the super fun Spider-Man: Homecoming this weekend, a role that will lead to many more for her — in and out of the franchise. She’s also got The Greatest Showman with Zac Efron and Hugh Jackman this year, and you’ll be able to hear her a pair of upcoming animated films, Duck Duck Goose and Smallfoot. If you were feeling unsure about the newest crop of young actors, well, Zendaya’s here to save the day.
