San Diego Comic-Con has been full of new clips and trailers, and Netflix‘s Bright was no exception to the rule. Yesterday, at a panel for the film featuring star Will Smith and director David Ayer (Suicide Squad) the streaming giant dropped a brand new trailer for the fantasy epic.

Bright is set in a futuristic Los Angeles and follows Smith’s LAPD detective as he polices this strange City of Angels in which creatures like elves, orcs, fairies, and more all exist alongside humans in different districts.

In what Smith has called a “role reversal”, his character is prejudiced against his Orc partner, played by Joel Edgerton. “It was really great to be an African-American police officer who found someone to be racist against,” he said at the panel. Noomi Rapace plays Bright‘s villain, an elite elf responsible for creating a dangerous wand that everyone seems to be trying to get their hands on.

At the panel, Smith and Ayer praised Netflix for allowing them “creative freedom” and Smith emphasized that Bright “ain’t no bull sh*t, PG-13 studio movie. This is real sh*t.” Written by Max Landis (ChronicleAmerican Ultra) the film, heavy on special effects, is estimated to have cost Netflix around $100 million to produce.

Bright premieres on Netflix December 22.
