It’s Friday and you know what that means–it’s time to get down! A weekend of carefree good times awaits you, no matter the weather and no matter the company. You know why? Because there are plenty of new movie releases waiting to take you on an adventure. Whether you use Amazon VideoiTunesVudu or your cable’s on demand service, there are a lot of new releases out there waiting to be rented or purchased.

If you’re up for some laughs, then you’ll be happy to know that you can purchase the 2017 comedy How to Be a Latin Lover. The film comes from Wet Hot American Summer’s Ken Marino and stars Salma Hayek, Rob Lowe, Kristen Bell, and Eugenio Derbez as the titular over-the-hill Latin lover. There are also plenty of 2017 movies now available to rent, too, including the Tom Hanks/Emma Watson tech thriller The Circle, the Anne Hathaway-as-kaiji comedy Colossal, and the septuagenarian heist movie Going in Style.

What else can you buy or rent this week? Find out by taking a look at the collection of sci-fi horror, family-friendly comedies, and engaging documentaries now available for you to enjoy from the comfort of your very own home!

Alien: Covenant

Acclaimed director Ridley Scott returned once more to the Alien franchise he helped start decades ago with this brutal sci-fi horror film. A follow-up to 2012’s Prometheus, this chapter in the chilling prequel saga brought us one step closer to seeing the xenomorphs we know and fear on the big screen (although TBH, the aliens in this film are just as horrifying as anything else in the series). If you are looking for an atmospheric late night scare, then Alien: Covenant will deliver. Of course if you’re looking to come face to face with a xenomorph for the low cost of a rental, you’ll have to wait a few weeks.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul

The latest film in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is now available for digital purchase, news that will surely cause the kids in your family to pump their fists and scream “cowabunga” (kids still say that, right?). Based on the popular series of children’s novels of the same name, The Long Haul sees the Heffley family hitting the road for Meemaw’s big 90th birthday. Plans go awry, of course, when Greg concocts a scheme to take a detour to  a video game convention. WARNING: This film contains footage of a pig sucking on a pacifier shaped like human teeth. There’s also one thing this film has in common with Alien: Covenant: if you want to rent it, you’ll have to wait.

Oasis: Supersonic

If you were alive in the early ’90s, then say hello to a documentary that you’ll definitely, maybe want to check out. Supersonic chronicles the meteoric rise of a band of British rock ‘n’ roll stars, a group that will live forever thanks to their swamp songs. Instead of just letting there be love, Noel and Liam Gallagher embraced the fame and all the cigarettes and alcohol that came along with it. Some might say Oasis have faded away, but this doc doesn’t ask “where did it all go wrong.” It focuses on the band’s early rise, which made them heroes all around the world. D’you know what I mean?
