FX Has Renewed ‘Snowfall’ For Season 2

If you love drug-filled dramas, then we have some great news for you. FX announced during its TCA 2017 Summer tour that Snowfall is getting a second season. Get ready for more crimes, more intricate plots, and more gorgeous depictions of inner city LA.

Created by John Singleton, Eric Amadio and Dave Andro, Snowfall revolves around the first crack epidemic in 1983. The series focuses on Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), a scrappy drug dealer who sees introducing crack into the inner city as a way to score a quick buck. Little does he know the horrors he’s introduced to his family and his community. However, there’s far more to cover in the sprawling world of Snowfall than one drug dealer’s misstep. The series also follows a Mexican luchador (Sergio Peris-Mencheta), the daughter of a Mexican crime boss (Emily Rios), and a CIA operative who’s willing to do anything to get back on top (Carter Hudson). All of these characters are destined to intersect as they bring crack to the mainstream.

According to FX, Snowfall has averaged 5 million total viewers across all linear, VOD, and streaming platforms. With those numbers, it’s certainly not one of FX’s strongest shows. The series also hasn’t gained as much critical attention when compared to FX’s other properties. However, since the show is only a month into its first season, it still has ample time to grow.

New episodes of Snowfall premiere on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
