Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 6 is still about a week away. Luckily, we have a minute-long preview to breakdown.
What Is It?: This week’s official Game of Thrones preview. As of publication, HBO still hadn’t released an official name for the episode. UPDATE! The official title is “Beyond the Wall.”
What Are We Basically Seeing?: We open north of the Wall. Ser Beric says in voice over: “Death is the enemy.” We watch as Jon Snow’s small band of unlikely heroes travels over the bleak ice floes of the north. The Hound and Ser Thoros stop and appraise the mountain from his vision as Ser Beric continues: “…the first enemy and the last.” The action shifts to Dragonstone, where Daenerys and Tyrion stand in the map room, and both look worried. Ser Beric chimes in again to say, “The enemy always wins,” as we go back to the north and see Jon Snow turn quickly at some movement. Now we see Ser Beric directly addressing Jon. He finishes his monologue by saying, “And we still need to fight him.” Now we see Jon’s team circle up, weapons out, in the swirl of an ice storm. We go back to Winterfell, where Arya says, “You’re scared, aren’t you?” Sansa is shiftily closing her door. Then, we’re back with Jon and his men, as Arya says, “What are you scared of?” The camera shows us what Jon’s men see: the Army of the Dead approaching them. We see a wight attack the Hound and the Hound smack him down.
We see various scenes of the awesome battle between Jon’s team and the Army of the Dead as title cards pop up saying, one by one, “WINTER” “IS” “HERE.” We also see Arya confront Sansa and Ser Beric lighting up his sword. Finally, we watch a gasping Jon, Tormund right behind, running for his life from the Army of the Dead. The trailer cuts to black and then comes back up on the Night King and a White Walker strutting into position.
Where Should I Pause It?: Eh, there’s not much hidden in quick cuts this week, but if you pause around the 0:29 – 0:31 part, you can make out the faces of Jon Snow’s crew. They all look rather troubled to be facing down the Army of the Dead, to be honest, and we can’t really blame them.

What Do You Think Is Going To Happen Next Week? Well…if I’m conjecturing…

Since next week is the penultimate episode of the season and that’s usually when Game of Thrones drops its most shocking battles, I would guess that the bulk of the episode will be devoted to Jon’s daring adventure North of the Wall. I think a great many of the Brotherhood will perish. If I had to throw a Hail Mary of a guess? (THIS IS WILD SPECULATION!!!) I would bet that next week’s episode ends with Jon close to death and then Daenerys swoops in with one of her dragons to save him. After all, she’s grown quite attached to him.
The other big thing to look out for is the burgeoning tension between Sansa and Arya. Right now both sisters are playing into Littlefinger’s hands. So we could see a deadly confrontation…unless, you know, their all-seeing brother Bran steps in and says something. Again, these are wild guesses…
How Long Do I Need To Wait For This All-New Episode? The next episode of Game of Thrones will be available to stream Sunday, August 20 at 9 PM.
