Alec Baldwin made his inevitable return to Saturday Night Live during last night’s Weekend Update to cover all the news of the week in just one sketch.

Appearing at the Phoenix rally, complete with sunglasses because of the eclipse, Baldwin’s Trump explained, “It’s never to early to campaign for 2020. Mike Pence is already doing it.” He also promised all the hits for the crowd and certainly delivered on that.

“There was a tragic victim that came out of Charlottesville — me,” brought in a big laugh right off the top. Baldwin continued by picking on the media, addressing Afghanistan and the wall, and even giving a “proper goodbye” to Steve Bannon, aka the Grim Reaper.

It was the same Baldwin impression we know and love, yet it’s hard to believe we’ve gone an entire summer without it. However, an unexpected yet welcome addition to the sketch came in the form of Kenan Thompson doing the best background work of his life. As a paid attendee of the rally, he help up all too appropriate signs and interjected jokes throughout Baldwin’s speech.

SNL also announced last night that their first show of the season will be September 30th, with host Ryan Gosling and musical guest Jay Z.
