Television just got a lot less epic. This past Sunday marked the Season 7 conclusion of HBO’s mega hit, Game of Thrones, and as always the case with Game of Thrones, it left viewers with a lot of questions and even more emotions.

However, Season 7’s finale raised the stakes like never before. Becasue we now know that Game of Thrones will only have one more season, every battle, betrayal, beheading, and bang matters more than ever. And you can bet the sleuthing section of the internet is here for it. I may not be a Game of Thrones fan, but I am a huge fan of internet insanity. Welcome back to Really Internet, a corner of the web dedicated to collected the most insane and insanely believable fan theories out there. Today we’re diving into the dark and death-filled world of Westeros.

WHAT’S THE THEORY?

Cersei haters get excited. According to a prophecy that’s already been introduced in the Game of Thrones universe, Cersei is destined to die before the birth of her fourth child.

HOW CRAZY IS IT?

This theory comes from Reddit user radiofreejoe. In both the books and the show, Maggy the Frog gives Cersei this prophecy:

Three [children] for you. Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.

So far all of it has come true. All three of her children have died, so either one of two things can happen. Either the prophecy will be wrong and Cersei (Lena Headey) will successfully deliver a healthy baby (doubtful), or Cersei and the baby are destined to die either before or during childbirth. The only question this theory leaves is who will kill Cersei: Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) or Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau)? Considering HBO only has six more episodes to wrap up this fantasy epic, there’s not much time left to kill off the queen everyone loves to hate, so as far as I can tell, this one seems pretty solid.

WHAT’S THE THEORY?

You know how George R.R. Martin’s novel series is titled A Song of Fire and Ice and not Game of Thrones? At least one fan is taking that title quite literally. According to one theory, “Fire” and “Ice” refer to two gods that have been using all of Westeros’ drama as their own personal chess game.

HOW CRAZY IS IT?

This one comes from Reddit user RuafaolGaiscioch, and it asks you to jump through some hoops. The theory is based on the belief that all of the religions of Westeros stem from only two gods: the Lord of Light and the God of Death. All of the branches of religion in the series are just different iterations of worshipping one of these two gods. RuafaolGaiscioch interprets these gods as being neither wholly good or wholly evil, but they are on definite sides. The Lord of Light is on the side of humanity, and the God of Death is — unsurprisingly — on the side of the dead.

The theory goes into detail about how each branch of religion translates into worship for each god. Whether you want to believe this probably stems to how esoteric you want to get in your Game of Thrones viewing.

WHAT’S THE THEORY?

Direwolves are more than just the best part of Game of Thrones. They may be an indication of who’s going to survive the last episode of this fantasy epic. And things aren’t looking good for Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and Sansa (Sophie Turner).

HOW CRAZY IS IT?

This theory from jaysunn72 makes a lot of assumptions as all good fan theories do. At this point, the only characters that we know have direwolves seem to be from the Stark family. The Reddit user posits that the death of a direwolf is actually connected to the death of its owner, specifically that each direwolf was “killed by someone somehow related to their owner’s death.”

Based on this theory, only Arya (Maisie Williams) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) will be able to live past the finale. Not only that, but, based on the deaths of their direwolves, Bran may be killed by a White Walker, and Sansa may be killed by a Stark. This one feels a bit farfetched but so is most of this show, so sure. Why not? Watch the wolves next season.
