Twin Peaks fans are still unpacking Sunday night’s finale, and they aren’t alone in this endeavor. Julee Cruise, the singer behind prominent Twin Peaks tracks “Falling” and “The World Spins”, found herself completely baffled by “Part 17”. In the episode, Cruise performed “The World Spins” for Twin Peaks fans both old and new, but was shocked to find her performance cut shorter than she had anticipated. While Cruise’s career trajectory and the discovery of her dreamy sound may certainly be credited to her collaboration with David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti (she even said so herself in an interview that ran this morning), she seems to have expected a little more screen time than Lynch gave her in “Part 17” and took to Facebook to air her grievances.

Cruise’s initial post was short; “I’m done”, she wrote, throwing in a smiley-face emoji for good measure. “And I could care less about TP.”

She may have kept things short and sweet in her post, but that didn’t stop Cruise from addressing her concerns in the comments. When one commenter complimented Cruise and told her that she’d “cried a lot”, Cruise responded that she “yelled her head off in anger” and told another commenter that she was “very angry right now”.

“He did it to slap me in the face,” she responded to one fan who was disappointed by Cruise’s brief appearance. “I [sic] So God Damned Sick of…… if you only knew,” she wrote. Cruise continued to respond to fans, calling out the “RUDE” Lynch for perhaps not liking her performance even though he “told her to do it”.

The singer also said that she “didn’t like how she was treated” and then referenced Lynch directly: “I don’t like The David Lynch Sabrina [sic] Southerland Attitude toward me, and I Will Never Work for The Emperor Again..thank God!” She later commented “He insulted me so loud onset. I Will Never Forgive Him or that Bitch, Sabrina [sic] Southerland!”

Cruise is referring to executive producer Sabrina S. Sutherland, a longtime Lynch collaborator, though what exactly went down remains unclear. This isn’t the first time Lynch has been the subject of on-set beef; actor Michael J. Anderson has made multiple public jabs at Lynch over the last few years.

Lynch, per usual, is remaining mum on the issue.
