Ok, so to be honest, today’s Woman Crush Wednesday is a total #DUH. While it’s obvious we’re crushing on Sarah Paulson forever and always, we still wanted to take the time to celebrate her today.

I mean, after that American Horror Story: Cult premiere last night? This woman is brave enough to relive the actual nightmare that was the 2016 election, all for our entertainment! Which is precisely what makes this lady such a gem of an actress (and human!).

WHO’S THAT GAL: Sarah Paulson

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Sarah is undeniably one of the greatest actresses of our generation. No question. She’s as graceful as she is self-deprecating, and when it comes to her on-screen work, she’s nothing short of a dramatic chameleon. She’s done comedy, crying, and creepiness, and she could do it all at once if you wanted her to. When she stops by late night shows, she’s known to get in an impression and an impromptu rap or two.

The word “talented” doesn’t quite feel strong enough to describe what this actress can, and has, done on screen and on stage. She’s that special kind of lady that everyone wants to work with as much as they want to do tequila shots with her — an activity she indulged in when she first met Marcia Clark to prepare for one of her greatest roles to date. Honestly, you’d be crazy not to be crushing on this gal.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Let’s not forget that Sarah kicked off her career over two decades ago in the mid-90’s, getting her first big break on the TV show, American Gothic. She popped up in movies such as The Long Way Home, The Other Sister, Held Up, What Women Want, and Down with Love. You might also remember her on the TV shows Jack & Jill and Leap of Faith before she appeared on Deadwood as Miss Isringhausen. Sarah was in the films Serenity, The Notorious Bettie Page, Diggers, and Griffin & Phoenix, where she shared the screen with her IRL bestie Amanda Peet before the duo went on to star in Aaron Sorkin’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. As conservative sketch comedy actress Harriet Hayes, Sarah truly stood out in the ensemble that included Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford — and not just because of her dolphin impression.

Sarah went on to star in the TV series Cupid and the films The Spirit, Martha Marcy May Marlene, New Year’s Eve, Mud, Game Change, Fairhaven, and The Time Being. From there, her career was looking more than a little bit golden, with Oscar nominated films 12 Years a Slave and Carol, as well as a truly special performance opposite Mark Duplass in Blue Jay. Hell, her one scene appearance in Feud this year was memorable!

Which brings us to last year’s The People vs. O.J. Simpson, where Sarah was nothing short of incredible as Marcia Clark. Her portrayal humanized a fierce woman that went through a lot during the trial of the century, rightfully racking up Television Critics Association, SAG, Satellite, Dorian, Critics’ Choice, Emmy and Golden Globe awards for the role.

Sarah has appeared on all seven season of American Horror Story, sometimes even giving two performances for the price of one, and has won a statue or 3, as well as 10 additional award nominations for her consistently unique work on the Ryan Murphy series.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: This fall, you can see Sarah opposite Nicholas Hoult and Kevin Spacey in Rebel in the Rye, before an insanely exciting lineup for 2018, including Steven Spielberg’s The Post with Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks, and Ocean’s 8 with the most badass female cast to ever grace the screen, including Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, and Anne Hathaway. It would be a damn crime if Sarah wasn’t included there. She’s also got Lost Girls and Glass due for 2019 and beyond. She only continues to get better, and just when we think we can’t even, we love her a little more.
