Looking forward to the second season of Stranger Things? Us too! But it’s about to get a little bit more expensive to enjoy the streaming antics of those supernatural-adventure-seeking kiddos. Netflix has raised the rates on two of their subscription plans, with the new rates going into effect for November.

The Standard two-screens streaming plan will now cost $10.99 a month (up from $9.99), while the Premium 4-screen plan (plus Ultra HD) will now cost $13.99 (up from $11.99). The bargain-basement $7.99/month plan that only allows streaming in standard def on one screen will seemingly be unaffected by these changes. These new rates will affect U.S. subscribers only.

That top rate of $13.99 is creeping ever closer to (though at the moment still cheaper than) the current $15 rate for HBO Now.

It can’t come as a huge surprise that Netflix is upping their rates. Despite shedding licensed content left and right, the streaming platform’s massive appetite for original content remains unsatiated. Earlier this week, Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos announced the company’s plan to spent $7 billion on original content next year. “I don’t know what the limit is,” Sarandos told the Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit audience. “I don’t think we see it yet. We’re not bumping up against it yet.”

Sounds like those costs are being passed on to the customer.
