If this fall’s massive horror hit It left you absolutely terrified, then be glad that the version you saw was actually toned down a bit from the original screenplay. We already know from an interview with Pennywise actor Bill Skarsgard that a scene was shot that he described as “really, really disturbing,” and now it looks like we know what that scene was.

In an interview with the Throwing Shade podcast, Timothy Simons (a.k.a. Jonah from Veep) revealed that he auditioned for the role of Pennywise and he then described a scene he read–and it’s very, very disturbing indeed.

“It was [Pennywise] way back at the beginning of Derry convincing the woman to give him her baby to eat. And it was scary,” said Simons. “The thing that was scariest about it was that it was very direct. It was, ‘If you don’t do this, these are the things that I’m going to do.’ And they were all terrible.”

This fits right in with the deleted scene that Skarsgard initially described last month. “There was a scene we shot that was a flashback from the 1600s, before Pennywise [was Pennywise],” Skarsgard said. “The scene turned out really, really disturbing. And I’m not the clown. I look more like myself. It’s very disturbing, and sort of a backstory for what It is, or where Pennywise came from.”

Both of those accounts are then confirmed in what appears to be the original shooting script, which Reddit sleuths have uncovered and shared. So if your day so far has included reading zero descriptions of a murderous demon eating a baby, you can click on that link and drastically alter your day! The description involves the word “CRUNCH,” in all caps.

As horrifying as all this baby eating is, and it really is horrifying, I can’t let it just go unaddressed that JONAH RYAN auditioned to play PENNYWISE. Simons is tall and slender, just like Bill Skarsgard, so the It casting directors were really going for a type. But can you imagine this guy playing one of the creepiest horror villains of all time? Actually, yeah, yeah I kinda can. (Super NSFW Veep clip below)
