Kate Del Castillo Says She Had Sex With Sean Penn While Filming ‘The Day I Met El Chapo’

At this point, the drama surrounding The Day I Met El Chapo: The Kate Del Castillo Story may be more insane than the Netflix docu-series itself.

This morning, Good Morning America aired an interview with Kate del Castillo, a Mexican actress and telenovela star, in which the actress spoke about her infamous meeting with drug kingpin El Chapo and actor Sean Penn. At the beginning of the interview, del Castillo dropped a bomb when she told ABC News correspondent Juju Chang that she and Penn had sex while filming her three-part documentary on the drug lord.

“I never fell for him. We had sex. We’re both adults, single, and something was going on, but that was it. It was business,” said the actress on GMA.

This new information, as reported by The Daily Mail, comes a day after Sean Penn’s lawyers and spokespeople told reporters that the docu-series is a “reprehensible” effort to “create this profoundly false, foolish, and reckless narrative.” In the last few months, the actor has disputed claims that he assisted authorities in finding El Chapo, and before the show’s release, his team unsuccessfully pushed for re-edits that correct the “profound inaccuracies and presumptions” presented.
