We’ve heard for years that the original Game of Thrones pilot was a pile of Fleabottom garbage. There’s a reason that HBO ordered massive reshoots and cast changes (Jennifer Ehle was almost our Catelyn Stark! Emilia Clarke wasn’t the original Daenerys). But apparently it’s so bad that show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss use its existence to taunt and threaten their golden-boy star Kit Harrington.

“They made a lot of mistakes,” Harrington told the Guardian about the original pilot. “It didn’t look right, didn’t feel right, had nothing different about it.” He went on to say that, though he’s never seen the pilot, Weiss and Benioff make sure he knows they keep a copy. “They say, if I ever piss them off too much, they’ll release it on YouTube. Every now and then, they send me a screengrab, just as a threat.”

Considering Harrington reportedly wore a wig in that original pilot, you have to figure the visuals are pretty bad/hilarious. But while the idea of Benioff and Weiss sending Harrington threatening screen grabs like they’re Bunny Lebowski’s toe would indeed be fantastic, it’s also kind of awesome that there’s something about the most talked-about TV show in the country that is utterly inaccessible. No story spoiler has been locked up tighter than that pilot.
