In light of Anthony Rapp’s allegation that Kevin Spacey made sexual advances towards him when he was 14 years old, many are looking at Spacey in a totally new light. But while there are people that are shocked by this news, there’s also a chorus of “finallys” going around online.

Rumors have persisted about Spacey for years, and not just rumors about his sexuality (which he has finally opened up about, albeit his timing has plenty of people livid). Rumors about Spacey’s aggressive behavior towards young men have circulated (like this list in 2015, or this in 2014, and all this as well). To hear Rosie O’Donnell tweet it, Spacey’s rep was just as pervasive as Harvey Weinstein’s.

In light of the recent allegation, past jokes and allusions to Spacey’s behavior are starting to make sense, like this quick gag from a Family Guy episode from over a decade ago. In the clip, Stewie–a toddler–runs screaming through a mall, “Help! I’ve escaped from Kevin Spacey’s basement!”

As AV Club points out, this isn’t the first time Seth MacFarlane has shoved an “open secret” into the spotlight. Back when he hosted the Oscars in 2013, he congratulated the soon-to-be-announced winner of Best Supporting Actress by saying, “You no longer have to pretend to be attracted to Harvey Weinstein.” Love him or hate him, you have to give MacFarlane props for dragging Hollywood’s dangerous open secrets into the light over and over again.
