A Tuneful and ‘Humble’ Barbra Streisand Takes the Stage in the Trailer for Her Upcoming Netflix Concert Film

Just in case you were worried that your mom and aunts (and gay uncles) will end up arguing about politics throughout Thanksgiving weekend, Netflix has a plan to get them to shut right up. Barbra: The Music… The Mem’ries… The Magic! drops on November 22nd, Thanksgiving Wednesday, and by the looks of the brand new trailer Netflix just released, the concert documentary is going to deliver:

  • flowy cape dresses
  • a “Hello, Gorgeous” within the first minutes on stage
  • a side table on stage with a vase, two pink roses, and a teapot

  • a truly … interesting collection of celebrity guests, including Seth Macfarlane, Jamie Foxx, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, and Melissa McCarthy, who gets Barbra to joke that she’s very “humble.”
  • Hugh Jackman saying “my wife” exactly the same way that Corky St. Clair says “my wife, Bonnie”
  • Barbra singing in front of a screen projecting nature footage of elephants

  • Barbra wearing the same hat she wore when she walked on to the SNL “Coffee Talk” sketch with Madonna and Roseanne that one time.
  • Barbra at the craft services table wielding a can of whipped cream while James Brolin quietly noshes on maybe a salad?

  • Barbra getting so theatrically exhausted, she has to leap up against the scenery.

  • That same shot we always see of Barbra directing from the set of The Prince of Tides. You know exactly which one I’m talking about, where she’s looking into the camera with the hat on.
  • So many sixtysomething ladies in sparkly tops and frosted hair you honestly won’t believe it.
  • And of course, the most Barbra film title of all time: Barbra: The Music… The Mem’ries… The Magic!

People who have Netflix really are the luckiest people in the world.
