We know after last week’s Outlander that Claire (Caitriona Balfe), Jamie (Sam Heughan), and Young Ian (John Bell) are heading back home to Lallybroch, but it would seem that the group’s in for a rather awkward homecoming. Decider’s got your sneak peek at the tense Fraser family reunion in this exclusive clip from Outlander, Season 3, Episode 8, “First Wife.”
Claire’s only been back in 18th Century Scotland for a few days and already she’s been assaulted by a “ruffian,” ensnared with a “seer,” and been forced to stand helplessly by as Jamie rushed into his burning print shop to save Young Ian from the blaze. Things don’t seem to be getting much better for her in next week’s episode. It would seem that Jenny (Laura Donnelly) — once one of Claire’s staunchest allies – is none too pleased to see her once-beloved sister-in-law again after twenty years away. Could it be because Jenny knows what we know? Jamie’s married to a new wife he doesn’t want to tell Claire about?
Well, it could be that, or the fact that Jamie’s been hiding Young Ian from his loving mother and father. Both Jenny and Ian have a lot of strong words for the highlander in this clip. Can the once-loving family make peace? How will Claire handle the news of Jamie’s wife? And will there be more swoon-y love-making soon?
