Shudder, AMC’s Horror Streaming Service, Launches In Germany

AMC Network’s Shudder SVOD service has launched in Germany and Austria with titles including the Wolf Creek TV series and French sci-fi mystery Missions.

Shudder offers a menu of on-demand horror, thriller, and suspense programming and originally rolled out in the U.S. It has since expanded to Canada and the U.K. and Ireland.

German and Austrian subs will be able to see French haunted house drama Beyond the Walls, which AMC picked up for the U.S. Shudder marking its first exclusive acquisition.

There will also be Flying Lotus’ Sundance horror thriller Kuso, and revenge thriller Let Me Make You a Martyr, which stars Marilyn Manson. Shudder original talkshow The Core will also be on the German service.

The service is €4.99 ($5.81) a month or €49.99 a year in Germany and available via Apple and Android apps.

Former editor of horror magazine Fangoria Sam Zimmerman has helped put together the programming line-up for Shudder.

“Germany and Austria have their own unique genre fans and it’s been an exciting process as we curated content for this specific regional audience,” he said. “We’re uniquely positioned to cater to these genre fans and we aim to continue our mantra of being thrilling and provocative as we launch in these new territories.”
