Netflix Adds To Its Growing Slate Of Anime With ‘Fate/Apocrypha’

If you’re a fan of the Fate/Stay Night anime franchise, you’ll be thrilled to know that the latest installment of this popular series, Fate/Apocryphais now available to stream on Netflix.

Beginning as a video game before being adapted into a manga series, Fate/Apocrypha follows fourteen Heroic Spirits who gather for an apocryphal Holy Grail War between two factions, Red and Black. Set in a parallel world to Fate/Stay Night, the mythology of the world is dense for those unfamiliar with the backstory of the universe, but the anime adventure centers on the previous theft of the Holy Grail, which ushers in a new conflict between the Mages Association and the Ygdillemna Family.

The Yggdmillennia clan wage a rebellion against the Mage’s Association, who counter with an all-powerful force to protect the Greater Grail. A Holy Grail War of unprecedented scale unfolds in Trifas, Romania.

The first 12 installments of the planned 25 episodes are now streaming, and Netflix has provided a multitude of audio/subtitle options. This anime adventure series is available in five different audios — English, Japanese, German, Spanish, and Italian — and offers a variety of different subtitles. Fate/Apocrypha is visually splendid, and the animation can be appreciated by the most ardent of anime fans or by someone who is relatively new to the genre.

Basically, the action series will entertain you if you’re an anime aficionado…
