Based on a classic French sci-fi comic series, Valerian casts Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan as two space soldiers charged with keeping the peace. Valerian earned mixed reviews from audiences and critics, with the special effects garnering praise while the story and performances… well, you be the judge. And if you don’t want to drop big bucks buying this movie, you can wait and rent it on November 21.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard

What if Deadpool was hired to guard Nick Fury’s life, ensuring he can testify at the International Criminal Court? If that sounds like a great movie, then know that that’s one way you can view The Hitman’s Bodyguard, a film that stars a ton of Marvel (and one DC) actors. Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Elodie Yung, Gary Oldman–this no-frills actioner is a real who’s who of genre film and it gets major points for putting Reynolds and Jackson together.

The Punisher

With a highly anticipated Netflix original series on the way next week, the Punisher has stepped into the cross hairs of public attention. With a history stretching back 40+ years in the comics, Marvel’s #1 antihero has already had a few shots at mainstream success. Those shots took the form of three major motion pictures starring three different dudes as Frank Castle. The 2004 film starring Thomas Jane is the best reviewed of the bunch, barely, and you can now rent it for just under a buck on iTunes.
