Even Joss Whedon Seems To Think ‘Justice League’ Is Bad

Joss Whedon may be regretting his jump from Marvel to DC. The Avengers director, who stepped in after Zack Snyder‘s family tragedy, shares a writing credit on Justice League with Chris Terrio and saw the film through reshoots and its post production phase (but was not officially credited as director on the finished film). Justice League, which has received mixed reviews and is currently boasting a 40% score on Rotten Tomatoes, has been dragged by many a Twitter user the last few days… And Whedon might just be among the folks throwing shade. The director “liked” a few of these insults from Vanity Fair staff writers, and based on the reviews coming out about the movie, it’s not hard to see why:

The tweets in question, posted by Vanity Fair senior writer Joanna Robinson, slam and poke Ciaran Hinds’ villain, Steppenwolf. When one user responded that Steppenwolf evoked Tim Curry in 1985’s Legend, Robinson tweeted a response that also got a Whedon like.

The third and final of Robinson’s tweets on the matter that earned Whedon’s attention was the following, in which she points out the “best” comic book villains (and includes Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki, the villain from Whedon’s The Avengers):

Whedon also liked a tweet from Vanity Fair critic Richard Lawson making light of the response he’d received to his scathing Justice League review:

Whedon has not posted any tweets or liked any other Justice League-related messages since going on his Vanity Fair spree, but it’s safe to say he’s probably a little more thrilled with the critical reception to The Avengers than this muddled DC response.
