In totally bizarre news, Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon will be hosting a Rose Parade live show on New Years Day on Amazon Prime. The Saturday Night Live alums will be hosting the show as Tish Cattigan and Cord Hosenbeck, two local TV anchors who are ready to graduate into the big leagues by hosting the “biggest, the best, the most fun parade ever.”
In a press release for the live television event, Amazon leaned into the joke, insisting that because Tish and Cord are such “parade legends, beloved the world over,” it was an amazing coup for the streamer to “steal them away to Amazon Prime Video for their first-ever-live-streamed parade.” The “veteran parade commentators” will be providing witty commentary, friendly banter, and no doubt, some serious hijinks as they take on what’s sure to be a monumental parade event.
But first, a little about our new hosts. Cord, Ferrell’s character, is a “frequent television and radio host dedicated to physical and mental wellness,” and Tish, Shannon’s character, is best known for being a “former Miss Arizona” who absolutely cannot wait for “Pasadena in July.” You know what, Tish? Neither can we.
Check out this video to get to know your soon-to-be-favorite parade hosts. Let the countdown to Pasadena begin!
