Looks like Netflix is taking the cannoli. That’s right. Starting January 1, 2018, The GodfatherThe Godfather: Part II, and The Godfather: Part III will be available to stream on the platform. Based on Mario Puzo’s novel, the Academy Award-winning trilogy has given us some of the most iconic lines and imagery of all time. The first installment follows the Corleones, an organized crime family led by Don Vito (Marlon Brando), as the dynasty is transferred into the hands of his reluctant son Michael (Al Pacino). It earned 3 Oscars, including Best Picture, and somehow, it managed to get even better after that.

The film’s sequel, oft-regarded as the best of the trilogy, brought Robert De Niro into the franchise to play a young Vito and earned him a Best Supporting Actor Oscar (one of six awards received by the film). Part III may not have been as loved as the other two, but it did rake in seven Oscar nominations. Lucky for you, you’ll be able to decide on your own which one is your favorite with as many viewings as you can possibly handle.

It seems that streaming is a dish best served cold, so thank Netflix now, y’all. You get to start things right with two of the best American films ever made. How’s that for ringing in the New Year?
