Rent

We hope you enjoyed your holiday time off! But now it’s time to get back in the swing of things and hit the ground running! By which we mean, of course, start watching all the plentiful new streaming options that lay out before you.

Tonight, while you might be facing frigid temperatures, depending on where in the country you’re situated, the best option is definitely going to be to curl up with a good movie. Whether that movie involves singing bohemians or seafaring cretins is your call. Or maybe you just want to re-acquaint yourselves with an old obsession. Entirely your call.

In addition to Decider’s What to Watch recommendations for Tuesday, here’s what’s new on streaming tonight.

NEW ON NETFLIX

Rent: Take a trip back to the ’90s via a film made in the 2000s. The film version of Rent may be a problematic fave if you’re friends with a lot of Broadway purists, but the sooner you can learn to quit worrying and love the contributions that Rosario Dawson and Tracie Thoms bring to the table — and properly mourn the loss of those phone-call interludes, not to mention that weirdly fraught number with the giant condom — the better.
GENRE: Musical
STARS: Jesse L. Martin, Rosario Dawson, Anthony Rapp, Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal, Tracie Thoms, Wilson Jermaine Heredia
IMDB SCORE: 7.0

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales: Once more into the briny deep with Captain Jack Sparrow. Last time, Penelope Cruz was the Oscar winner commissioned to zhuzh up the franchise. This time, she gets swapped out for Javier Bardem. Ain’t love grand?
GENRE: Action/Adventure
STARS: Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Geoffrey Rush
IMDB SCORE: 6.7

NEW ON HULU

The Bachelor: Yep, The Bachelor is back with Season 22, and another chance for you to deeply judge the life choices of a bunch of strangers whose most desperate desire is to be on television (and maybe find love). New year, same old Bachelor.
GENRE: Reality
IMDB SCORE: 3.0

None of these look appealing to you? Don’t forget about Decider’s What To Watch recommendations, which are sortable by genrestreaming service and even mood! Or check out what’s new on streaming for the entire month of December on the following services:
