Rose McGowan Is Getting Her Own ‘E!’ Documentary Series

There is already one good thing that’s coming out of this new year. It looks like we’re all going to be seeing more from Rose McGowan. According to The Hollywood Reporter, McGowan has signed on to produce and star in a five-part documentary series for E!. Titled Citizen Rose, the series will explore the activist, actor, and director’s life as she compiles her memoir following her explosive allegations against Harvey Weinstein.

McGowan started receiving national attention late last year when she publicly accused Weinstein of rape. These allegations gave way to the #MeToo movement and inspired several other women and some men to come forward with their own stories of rape and sexual misconduct. If you want to find the source of the spark that called out some of the biggest names in Hollywood for sexual misconduct and triggered several huge names to fall, including Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, and Louis C.K., that spark is the fearless McGowan.

Citizen Rose will follow McGowan as she continues her work as an activist, battles alleged sexual predators, and works on her new “memoir / manifesto” called BRAVE. The series will feature footage from the first time McGowan’s accusations against Weinstein were made public.

“You are formally invited into my mind and world. I am thrilled to partner with E! to amplify my message of bravery, art, joy, and survival,” McGowan said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “As I ready my book, BRAVE, I realized I wanted to show how we can heal through art even when being hounded by evil.”

“We look forward to taking viewers inside this talented, dynamic woman’s world as the first allegations unfold and she becomes a leading voice in a critical cultural change,” Amy Introcaso-Davis, E!’s Executive Vice President of Development and Production said in a statement.

McGowan’s BRAVE and the two-hour premiere of Citizen Rose will both premiere on January 30.
