Jane Fonda Resurrected An Old Grudge With Megyn Kelly On ‘Today’

Promoting the new season of Grace & Frankie on the Today show this morning, Jane Fonda and her longtime pal engaged in some playful ribbing for hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie. But when Tomlin made a joke about Fonda’s face-lifts, the two-time Oscar-winning actress reached for a comeback that reached all the way across the NBC morning-show studios and tapped Megyn Kelly on the shoulder, all “Remember me??

Answering Kotb’s question of how long she and Fonda have known each other, Tomlin joked, “I think before your first face-lift.” Fonda was abashed for a second and laughed at her pal’s jab, but she recovered with a synergistic comeback: “Who are you, Megyn Kelly?” This jab at a fellow Today host caused Hoda Kotb to do this:

This of course refers to the infamous/disastrous September interview Kelly had with Fonda and Robert Redford, as they were promoting Netflix’s Our Souls at Night. Kelly asked, “I read that you said you felt you’re not proud to admit that you’ve had work done. Why not?” Fonda responded with an annoyed, “We really wanna talk about that right now?” and then followed that up by complaining to Entertainment Tonight about Kelly’s question.

This was all during the disastrous first week of Megyn Kelly Today, where the morning show host, and former Fox News personality, delivered a series of gaffes and bizarre moments. Looks like Lily Tomlin, at least, was watching.
