Ali Wong Goes Off On “Bulls—” Broth In First Look At Netflix’s New Food Docu-Series ‘Ugly Delicious’

Ali Wong does not have time for bullshit broth!

That’s the takeaway from Netflix’s first look at their upcoming food docu-series Ugly Delicious, which stars chef and restaurateur David Chang (Momofuku) and comes from Academy Award-winning producer Morgan Neville.

The series, which debuts on Netflix on February 23, will follow Chang across the globe for eight episodes as he and a companion take in food that exists outside of the bright, clean kitchens of the world. In addition to celebrity guests like Jimmy Kimmel, Ali Wong, Eric Wareheim, Gillian Jacobs, Alan Yang, Steve Yeun, and Nick Kroll, you’ll see Chang and a guest savor Viet-Cajun cuisine in Houston, Neapolitan Pizza in Tokyo, home cooking in Copenhagen.

The above clip features Chang and comedian Ali Wong talking about what makes a great Vietnamese restaurant. Wong’s ideal pho spot involves an inexplicable copy machine and a visible mop bucket, and she hates it when Yelp reviews prioritize things like cleanliness and politeness over, you know, the actual food.  Don’t send Wong to a “whack-ass pho place because people were polite and the bathroom was nice and that’s why they like it. And then it’s like, this broth is bullshit.”

You’ll be able to see more of David Chang and his many special guests (and they’re many adventurous dishes) when Ugly Delicious arrives on Netflix on February 23.
